Attorney General Eric Holder is the longest serving member of President Barack Obama’s cabinet. He announced he would be leaving the position last year. As soon as his successor was appointed, out the door he’d go. Easy as pie, right?
This being the United States government, nothing is ever as easy as it sounds. Obama had thought the vote for Holders replacement, Loretta Lynch, would take place in January. Shockingly, we’re here in April and that vote has been continually pushed back. It may be months before the vote reaches the floor. What’s ironic about this is the House of Representatives has been trying to remove Holder for years. In 2012 they tried to get him booted by holding him in contempt of court. And all of a sudden in 2015, now you’s can’t leave.
