Notes on above infographic: According to Grantspace, there are currently 10.7 million non-profit employees and 1.5 million registered organizations. These two numbers were used to estimate the average employee size of a non-profit (7). Survey response data used was gathered by Hubspot.

I recently came across an informative blog by Steven Shattuck of Hubspot. He was discussing the perceived importance of social media vs how a non-profit actually delivers on its social media strategy. Informed by a 9000+ person survey, the results he uncovered are pretty startling.

Yes Sir! Wristbands Inspire Bills… Sort Of

Oh, Rex Ryan. The lovable, tough-luck former coach of the NY Jets and current top man at Buffalo has a problem: His team commits a billion penalties per game. And in the game of football, there is nary a bigger sin then committing a stupid penalty. On the shame meter, it’s the nearest thing to a turnover as it gets.

So in the week leading up to the Bills clash with the Tennessee Titans, Rexy made eliminating dumb penalties a priority. Aside from drilling this mantra in during practice and meetings, he made one super-important and extremely smart decision.

Chrome Disease Is Running Rampant On Google

Chrome Disease is the #1 health problem facing American’s today. How do I know? Well, just look at how many people are searching for info about it every single month:

On average, Chrome Disease is searched 5400 times a month. That means about 180 people a day are taking to the internet streets in a quest to quench their thirst for Chrome Disease knowledge.

But what is Chrome Disease, exactly? Does anyone know? I’m not so sure. But I’ve got three pretty good theories.

Cancer Ribbon Colors Explained

If you watched any football games this past Sunday, you undoubtably saw a whole heck of a lot of pink. That’s because it’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The NFL is one of the largest supporters–visually yes, financially, not so much–of Breast Cancer Awareness. They’ve got pink towels and pink gloves and shoes. All that pink got me thinking… What color is that, exactly?

I mean, obviously it’s pink. But what specific shade? Well… The answer to that proved a little underwhelming. (Hint: It’s pink.)

As unsatisfying as pink turning out to be pink was, it did do one thing. It spurned on the creation of this very text. Being in the custom wristband business, cancer ribbon colors come up quite a bit. It made sense for us to put together a blog explaining these colors.
