Donate Now Button Added To Facebook’s Non-Profit Pages

Facebook recently added a “Donate Now” call-to-action button for non-profit pages. Hooray! Break out the bubbly. It’s an all-night non-profit party and we’re not stopping ’til the sun comes up!
Hold on just a minute there, Speedy McSpeederston. Before we knock down the Statue of Liberty and replace it with a bust of Mark Zuckerberg, let’s analyze this new fangled “Donate Now” button a little closer. Does this announcement truly add up to a win for charities everywhere? Or is the social media giant the one with the most to gain?
Breaking Down Charity Event Spending In A Tidy Infographic
I came across this infographic while surfing the world wide web. The image was quite an interesting read. And that doesn’t even include wondering what horrible thing may have happened to the roll of toilet paper they featured in the middle panel. (Scroll and check at your own risk).
As a custom wristband company, charities are one of our main customer bases. We sell customized wristbands for events all the time. So it’s great to hear that 50% of all charities hold these events. We’d like to see that number at closer to 90%, but we won’t pout too much. At least not in front of you. I’ll find a quiet corner once I’m done writing this blog.
Stormtroopers Storm Across The Golden Gate Bridge
This is a pretty cool video. The Golden Gate Garrison recently raised awareness for a good cause by holding an out-of-this world march. Massed together, this stormtrooper army walked across the Golden Gate Bridge in full stormtrooper costumes.
How America Spends Its Donation Dollars
Americans are a giving bunch. Last year we donated 353.8 billion dollars to various causes. This according to Giving USA, a synopsis of American giving that has been published yearly since 1955.
Think 353.8 billion sounds like a lot of money? That’s because it is. With a country of 318 million, that’s an average of $1110 per person. And I’d be willing to wager at least $1110 that babies are pulling that number down.
