I was searching the seven seas for gold (looking on the internet for wristband news) when I stumbled on this delightful little fundraising wristband. The Big East Akita Rescue is selling “I Love My Akita” wristbands to help raise funds for their doggy rescue mission. And they’ve got a darn cute spokesman:
If you can’t rally behind a face like that, you may be beyond reach.
I did a little digging into Big East Akita Rescue. In the days of Chinatown or Dick Tracy, that might have involved making phone calls, visiting offices and placing questionable characters under surveillance.
Of course, now I can just like them on Facebook and get a pretty good idea of what they’re all about. Sorry Sherlock, it’s just a sign of the times.
Here’s a little blurb from their website explaining what they do:
B.E.A.R. is a new 501(c)3 nonprofit, hands-on, Akita rescue group covering the NY, NJ, and PA metropolitan region and the Northeast, helping unwanted, abused, and neglected Akitas in need.,
B.E.A.R. depends on your tax-deductible donations so we may continue to help these loyal, dignified Akitas find loving homes. Please, no donation is too small: consider helping an Akita in need today.
If you’re looking to donate some money, help some cute pups and get a cool wristband for your efforts, head over to Big East Akita Rescue!
This wristband was not produced by Wristband Bros. We just like highlighting awesome causes and people. #spreadlove
