For many of us, the holiday season is “the most wonderful time of the year,” but for some families, it can present challenges. With that in mind, November’s 10% For Good charity is working hard to spread the spirit of the season to every family.

Child & Family has been helping families in the Rhode Island community for over 150 years. Since they first opened their doors in 1866, two core values have been at the center of their organization:
- Individuals and communities thrive when supported by strong families.
- A community works best when it accepts responsibility for all of its members.
With those values in mind, and a strategic plan in place, they are working diligently to succeed in their mission of “strengthen[ing] individuals, families and the communities in which they live by identifying needs and utilizing best practices.” By focusing on this mission, they hope to achieve their vision of developing “empowered, engaged community members who thrive.”
Adopt-A-Family for the Holidays
To advance their mission, Child & Family offers a variety of year round programs and services for children, teens, adults and families. These range from early learning and counseling, to foster care and supportive housing.
This time of year, they put an emphasis on their Adopt-A-Family for the Holidays Program. It’s a wonderful opportunity for people to share the holiday spirit by supporting a family in need so they can create those special holiday memories that so many of us cherish.
